Arts 4 Rutland launches youth competition and exhibition




Secondary school and sixth form pupils are invited to take part in an art exhibition.

Arts for Rutland will host the Rutland Youth Open Art Exhibition at Rutland County Museum in Oakham next month.

Young people in school years 7 to 13 who live or study in Rutland are eligible to take part. They can submit up to three pieces of original artwork from the mediums of painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, textiles or photography.

Entries must be delivered to the museum on Saturday, January 18 between midday and 4pm ready for judging. The exhibition will then run from Saturday, January 25 until and Saturday, February 25.

A private preview evening will take place on Friday, January 24 from 5pm when prizes will be presented.

A spokesperson said: “We look forward to seeing as many entries as possible, and to putting on the exhibition to celebrate the fantastic local talent that exists in the young people of Rutland.”
