Uppingham Rotary Club collects tools for African countries




Unwanted tools have been collected up and shipped off to help people living in Africa.

Members of Uppingham Rotary Club have been supporting the Tools with a Mission campaign since October.

They were supported by Jasmine Knew of Belton-in-Rutland who provided a storage space throughout the appeal.

The collection was the latest in a long line of projects supported by the community group. It has also made donations to Rutland Foodbank, Uppingham’s community fridge and LOROS, hosted a technology competitions for schools, and donated two hoists to Rutland Sailability.

Individually, some of the club members also volunteer as bereavement counsellors for Dying Matters, support Ukrainian refugees and drive the Uppingham Hopper bus,
