Dancers at Clubbercise Rutland raise money for Breast Cancer Now

An exercise class raised £400 for a charity close to the organiser’s heart.

Hayley Scoffin runs Clubbercise Rutland at Oakham CE Primary School, which is a dance fitness class set in a nightclub-style environment with disco lights and participants waving glowsticks to club anthems.

On Saturday, Hayley held a class to raise money for Breast Cancer Now.

With the support of Oakham CE Primary, which gave her the venue for free on that occasion, Hayley waived the regular fee for attending the class and instead asked for donations. She managed to raise £400.

She said: “I chose this charity as it’s a cause very close to my heart. My mum is a breast cancer survivor and the woman who took my Clubbercise instructors course last year is currently facing over a year’s worth of treatment battling the disease.

“I was blown away by the generosity of everyone, even family and friends and many of my regular participants who couldn’t make the session donated. It really highlights community spirit coming together for a great cause.”
