National Gardens Scheme, which supports nursing charities, begins Rutland openings for 2025
Admirers of the English country garden are in for a treat as a new season of open gardens gets under way this weekend.
The Rutland openings for the National Garden Scheme begins on Sunday (May 11) when Burrough Hall opens to the public from 2pm to 5pm.
A week later, on Sunday, May 18, the Lord-Lieutenant of Rutland, Dr Sarah Furness and her husband Peter open their garden at the Old Vicarage, in Whissendine, for the 20th year.
“We would like to share heartfelt thanks to Prof Peter and Dr Sarah Furness for generously opening their garden for 20 years, in support of The National Garden Scheme,” said an NGS spokesperson.
The scheme has raised over £74 million for nursing charities since 1927 and is the UK’s most significant funder of nursing.
