A-levels 2024: Uppingham School has half of pupils achieving A* or A
More than half of all grades achieved at a private school were A* or A.
Uppingham School says the 2024 cohort of pupils achieved the strongest academic results in the past decade - if you remove the Covid years.
More than half (52%) of all A-level grades were graded A*A and 84% were A*-B.
Headmaster of Uppingham School, Dr Richard Maloney, said: “We are thrilled by these results. Not only have this year’s A-level cohort shown themselves to be academically outstanding, but they have also been fantastic leaders of the school community and deserve every success as they go on to the next stage of their lives.
“Congratulations to my colleagues who have supported the pupils in their myriad contributions to Uppingham. The dedication of everyone who works in our community enables our pupils to achieve their success.”
The outcome of these results mean that our pupils are also celebrating receiving confirmation of their places at many of the best universities in the UK and overseas, including Oxford, Cambridge, and leading Russell Group and international universities, notably IE Madrid and the University of North Carolina. Additionally, the school has pupils going on to professional conservatoires, including the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
