Free mental health support in Uppingham

A drop-in service for people who need mental health support is expanding.

Rutland's Neighbourhood Mental Health Café will open a new branch in Uppingham following a successful nine months operating in Oakham.

It will launch at Uppingham Town Hall on Friday, June 14.

A spokesperson said: “These centres are funded by the NHS and offer one-to-one listening and help with future support plans.

“They are staffed by trained listeners and provide a welcoming drop-in centre for anyone to come and talk, and have a cup of tea or coffee in a relaxed and safe space.”

The Uppingham cafe will run on Fridays between 1pm and 4pm at the town hall in High Street East. The sessions in Oakham run on Thursday evenings from 5.30pm until 8.30pm at Pepper’s in High Street.
