The Admiral Hornblower in Oakham is closed temporarily following a fire




A pub has temporarily closed after its kitchen was destroyed by fire.

Five fire crews were called to The Admiral Hornblower in Oakham’s High Street at 9pm on Friday night.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue says it started accidentally and damaged the entire kitchen.

A social media post from the owners said: “Due to a fire in our kitchen, we’re temporarily closing our doors to ensure safety and repair damages. Thankfully the situation was quickly controlled. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”

The pub has not yet confirmed when it will reopen.
