The Rutland jubilee horseshoe was carried to the cathedral’s altar by the Lord Lieutenant’s military cadets.

“The special service celebrated the life and community of the County of Rutland,” said Richard Cole, High Sheriff of Rutland.

Artem Stepanova from Uppingham Community College and Samantha Cash of Catmose College read the lessons. Pupils from St Mary and St John’s CE Primary School in North Luffenham wrote and led the prayers used in the service. Ellie Moore, the police cadet for Rutland, led the congregation in the Rutland Prayer.

In addition to representative from Rutland’s county and town councils, the High Sheriffs Cambridgeshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire all attended. Members of the Ukrainian community, who have made their homes in Rutland, were also represented at the service.
