Plan for new shop in Ryhall is rejected by Rutland County Council
Plans to open a farm shop just metres away from an existing village store have been rejected.
Vikram Keshwala had hoped to convert the former butcher’s shop in Ryhall into a farm shop.
Dozens of people contacted Rutland County Council calling for planning permission to be refused, claiming the shop isn’t needed when The Village Stores is so well-supported.
The council turned down the plans last week.
Officers said it would look out of place and negatively impact neighbouring properties. They were also concerned about road safety.
