Delays on stretch of the A1 between Stamford and Grantham after crash




The A1 has been partially blocked after a crash on Thursday morning.

At midday, the AA reported ‘severe’ delays of 13 minutes and increasing after a crash on the A1 at Broadgate Road - the turn-off for South Witham and Thistleton.

One lane remained closed at 2.45pm on the northbound carriageway, with queuing traffic and delays increasing to 24 minutes as emergency repairs were made.

National Highways reported five miles of congestion affecting traffic, almost as far south as Tickencote, and that the north entry to the A1 at South Witham was also closed.

The agency said that emergeny repair work was expected to last until the evening.
