The White Horse in Morcott, set to become home as updated plans submitted to Rutland County Council
A village pub which closed its doors a decade ago is being converted into homes.
Further details of the plans were submitted last week for the conversion of the White Horse, in Morcott, into a four-bedroom home, and the demolition of outbuildings to create more houses.
Part of the plans will see a single-storey extension at the back of the Stamford Road pub, including toilet block, removed to make way for a two-storey extension.
Four further four-bedroom homes are to be built on the site along with gardens and car parking.
Rutland County Council’s planning committee approved the development, submitted by applicant Simon Boon, 12 months ago, with conditions that more information was supplied.
Further details, including building materials, landscaping, and a construction management plan were submitted to council planning officers last week.

The pub is understood to date from the early 18th century and was used as a changeover point for the London to Oakham post coach, but closed in 2013.
Its owners, Burghley Estates, put forward plans three years later, for a major investment to restore the White Horse if the rest of the site, including an adjoining paddock, could be developed for housing.
But planning officers advised it would be rejected because the paddock fell outside the village’s development boundary, and in 2019, Burghley Estates decided to put the site up for sale.
