Exton coffee morning supports Macmillan Cancer Care

A coffee morning host has continued to do her bit for charity after receiving her own cancer diagnosis.

Ann Bell has been hosting Macmillan Cancer Support coffee mornings at her home in Exton for more than 25 years.

She was treated for cancer herself earlier this year and experienced the charity’s support first-hand.

Ann said: “I didn’t need their help financially but Macmillan kept in touch with me a lot to check if I was okay. They were so kind to me.”

On Saturday Ann’s latest coffee morning and craft sale raised £780.

She added: “There are a couple of other people in the village who have had cancer and it all helps if we get together to raise money. It’s also a nice way to get to know new people in the village.”

A coffee morning will be held in Essendine.
