Well known doctor to talk at Rutland luncheon

Rutland Friends of Cancer Research UK will hold its annual speaker luncheon at the Greetham Valley Hotel on Tuesday.

Dr Mark Openshaw has been invited to talk at the event.

In 2015 £150,000 was awarded to the Department of Cancer Studies for which Dr Openshaw works, researching the use of cell free DNA as a liquid biopsy.

The lunch club was first founded in 1977 and assumed its present name in 1985.

It has a close relationship with Cancer Research UK and has always been a fundraising group.

Rutland High Sheriff Sue Jarron will also be in attendance.
