Members of Rutland Running and Triathlon Club take part in the Great North Run

Rutland Running and Triathlon Club was well represented at this year's Great North Run.

Despite very blustery and wet conditions, there was some excellent running.

Eve Tarleton set a personal best of 1:55 while Carolyn Sayers, in her first ever half marathon, returned a time of 1:56.

The mother and daughter duo of Elaine Danby and Shannon O'Sullivan ran together in a brilliant 1:41.

This gave Elaine first place in her age group which was a fantastic result in a field of that size.

Special mention also to Paul Rogerson who completed his 38th Great North Run and knocked seven minutes off last year's time with a finish of 2:34.

Experienced club triathlete Giles Cooper was competing in the half ironman event - the Vitruvian - at Rutland Water.

He put in an extremely strong performance and had personal bests in both his run and swim and came second in his age category with a time of 4:40.
