Ethan Soppett-Moss beats an eight-year-old record set by Team GB butterfly swimmer Jacob Peters
Uppingham swimmer Ethan Soppett-Moss has been in record-breaking form at the national championships.
The teenager set a new English best in the 15-year 50m butterfly race after twice beating the eight-year-old record one day.
It was previously set by Team GB butterfly swimmer Jacob Peters but eclipsed by Soppett-Moss who posted a new record time of 00.24.60 at the event in Sheffield after earlier posting 00.24.79 in his heat.
It capped a sensational week for Soppett-Moss who was representing Corby Amateur Swimming Club at the British Summer Championships.
He won two golds (100m butterfly and 50m butterfly), a silver (50m backstroke) and a bronze (100m freestyle).
The 15-year-old also set a new junior East Midlands record time in the 50m backstroke as well as a handful of club bests.
His mum, Rachel, said: "Ethan absolutely brought his A game.
"He had a fabulous meet and went home with four very well deserved medals."
The success continued Soppett-Moss' meteoric rise after joining the Corby club three years ago.
He broke an eight-year East Midlands county record for the 15 years 50m butterfly earlier this year after posting 24.85sec at the Long Course Championships in Derby.
