Skegness dad, 71, dresses as Disney characters with Orlando based daughter from hit films including Toy Story, Up, Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast

Meet the dad and daughter duo who like to dress up as Disney characters together.

Charlie Perez, 27, and her dad Eric Mcgough, 71, have dressed up in eight sets of dad-daughter costumes over the last 16 months.

The idea came from a follower on Charlie's Instagram who noted that Eric looked very similar to Jane's father from Tarzan, Professor Archimedes Q. Porter.

Charlie told Eric about it and suggested they 'Disney Bound' in the matching costumes together.

'Disney Bounding' is when Walt Disney World visitors dress up in regular items of clothing to look like characters, as dressing up in an actual costume is not permitted for adults.

The pair got dolled up together on May 9, 2023, and have been coming up with new ideas ever since, including Ariel and King Triton and Belle and Maurice.

Charlie, a marketing manager based in Orlando, Florida, said: "When I first asked my Dad about it, I think he was a little bit reluctant in case people thought it was silly.

"But once we found our outfits, he really got into the character.

"My Dad's my best friend and he'd always there for me, my sisters and my Mum whenever we need him.

"I truly think he is the best Dad in the world and I feel so lucky to have him and to create these amazing memories with him.

"It's been a wonderful bonding experience."

Charlie is originally from Skegness, which is where her parents live currently.

Despite the distance, Eric will visit Charlie and the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando multiple times a year, dressing up on practically every visit.

Charlie said: "We try to do dad/daughter characters or anyone that my dad looks like specifically.

"Most of the time it is just us using regular items of clothing but styling them to look like a specific character.

"A few of the costumes I "made" myself, I painted my dad's Sulley shirt and for Mary Poppins I hand stitched the bows the dress.

"The last time we dressed up together was March 13, 2024, but we intend to continue with these costumes."
