SO Festival to return to Skegness and Mablethorpe from June 14 to June 16 with unique performances from across Europe
A free festival for the arts is set to return to the county’s coast next month with unique and inspirational performances
SO Festival will be filling the pavements, parks and promenades of Skegness and Mablethorpe with artists, speakers and workshops from Friday June, 14 to Sunday, June 16.
The first group of acts have already been announced in this year’s programme with many more to come.
Jens Frimann Hansen, the event’s Danish artistic director, is one of Europe’s leading festival directors bringing a wealth of experience which has allowed the Festival to partner with Helsingør Teater in Denmark and PASSAGE Festival in Denmark and Sweden.
SO Festival’s artists line-up so far:
Bakeke- by Fabrizio Roselli, France
De Cuyper v De Cuyper- by Pol and Freddy, Belgium
Tony and Ray Find Their Feet- by Rudkin and Hicks, London
Musical Ruth- by Fool’s Paradise, Devon
Quacksalver- by Sofie Krog Teater, Denmark
The Hippos- by Zum Zum Theatre, Spain
Transir- by Rojo Telón, Spain
Shangri-Lala- by Cocoloco, London
Talks will also be going on throughout the weekend including one from Chris Torch on coastal towns: culture, empowerment and voice, as well as Fiona Carruthers, from Lincolnshire, on considerations around environmental sustainability in an art practice.
