Lincolnshire police appeal for help in tracking down paintings stolen from Little Steeping Church
Religious paintings have been reported stolen from a Lincolnshire church.
The three paintings, which are all in heavy wooden frames, were taken from St Andrew’s Church in Main Road, Little Steeping.
Officers say it is not clear when the paintings were taken from the church but they were found to be missing on Sunday (February 23).
There are no signs of damage to the church.
A police statement says: “We would like to find the person responsible and locate the paintings to return them to the church and the congregation.
“The value of these items is unknown, but they have sentimental value to the church and its members.
“If you know where they might be, or have seen them for sale or offered in another way on social media sites such as Facebook Marketplace, please get in touch with the details you have.”
The missing paintings feature the text of the Lord’s Prayer, Ten Commandments along with a picture of Moses giving the commandments.
