Gleeson Homes to build 600 houses with medical centre in Spilsby pending planning permission

A planning application has been submitted for hundreds of homes to be built alongside public open spaces and a medical centre.

Development company Gleeson Homes has announced that it will build 600 two, three and four-bedroom houses on a site it secured in Spilsby if the planning application is accepted.

Full permission has already been granted for a new medical centre, and the company hope to create a nature zone, outdoor walking trail, and play area as part of the project.

“We are delighted to have secured a site of this scale, being our largest ever in Lincolnshire, and one of the highest unit developments in Gleeson’s history,” said Mark Knight, chief executive of Gleeson Homes.

“This is a great site, overlooking the stunning Lincolnshire Wolds scenery with fantastic access to the local town and nearby coastline.”

As part of its Community Matters programme, Gleeson also has plans in place to complete safety improvements to the roads and footpaths around Spilsby Town Centre, as well as make contributions towards local education and sports facilities.

Gleeson will be working on-site with award-winning Grimsby-based developer, Cyden Homes.

Cyden Homes’ sales director, James Hagerup, said: “As the area’s premier regional builder, we are looking forward to working with Gleeson Homes to help deliver high-quality new homes in Spilsby.

“We strongly support the use of local contractors and suppliers and are happy to be working with partners on this project who share our values.”

Gleeson added that this represents an important project for the company as it continues to extend its presence across the North and Midlands in its mission to provide high-quality affordable homes to those that need them most in the areas where they are needed most.
