Man dies after crash on A17 between Newark and Sleaford

A man has died following a single vehicle collision this morning (June 5).

The A17 near Brant Broughton was closed in both directions earlier after the driver of a grey Vauxhall Corsa was involved in a collision and died.

The driver’s family has been informed.

There was heavy traffic on the A17 at the Brant Broughton turnoff after the incident was first reported at 7.52am.

The road reopened around 9.40am, however, residual delays remain.

The average speed is 10mph with increasing delays on A17 Eastbound between Long Lane and Stragglethorpe Lane.
