Second teenager dies following two-vehicle collision at North Rauceby
A second teenager has died following a two-vehicle collision yesterday.
Police have confirmed an 18-year-old man has died from injuries sustained in the incident at North Rauceby.
The 17-year-old driver died following the collision on Thursday (June 20) while another passenger has sustained life-changing injuries.
“It is with great sadness we can now confirm an 18-year-old man has died from his injuries after this collision,” a Lincolnshire Police statement read.
“The man was a passenger in the black Ford Fiesta.
“Officers are supporting his family and the thoughts of those at Lincolnshire Police are with them.
“Our investigation into the collision is ongoing.”
Officers were called to the incident involving a grey Audi and a black Ford Fiesta on Newark Road at 9.41pm on Thursday, June 20.
The occupants of the first vehicle sustained minimal injuries but those in the second vehicle were taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.
“Our thoughts are with their family at this extremely difficult time, and they are being supported by specially trained officers,” the police statement added.
“We have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision and are now appealing for help from the public.
“If you were in the area shortly before or after the collision, please get in touch. If you have dash cam footage or any information, no matter how small, it could prove crucial.”
