Downham Market man Daniel Brundell set to face trial over alleged sexual offences in Spalding





A 59-year-old is set to face a trial after being accused of committing a number of sexual offences against children.

Daniel Brundell, of Launditch Crescent in Downham Market, appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

He is accused of a number of offences, including two counts of inciting a girl aged under 13 to engage in sexual activity. All of the offences are alleged to have been committed in Spalding between December 2014 and November 2020.

Brundell is also charged with three counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching – including by shaving her pubic hair – three counts of sexual assault, and two counts of inciting a girl aged 13-15 in sexual activity.

Finally, he is accused of two counts of making indecent photographs of a child and two of taking indecent photographs of a child.

Magistrates have sent the case to Lincolnshire Crown Court for a trial. Brundell’s next appearance in court will be on March 4 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

At this stage, he has not entered pleas to any of the offences.

Brundell has been remanded on unconditional bail.
