A16 was shut between Spalding and Surfleet with traffic diverted through Pinchbeck

A section of the A16 was closed for about two hours after a crash this morning.

The incident has occurred north of Spalding at about 7.35am — with the road shut between the B1180 Greencell roundabout and the A152 link road in the aftermath.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “We were called to the scene of a damage-only two-vehicle collision on the A16 at Pinchbeck at around 7.35am on Monday, February 24.

“A road closure was put in place while the aftermath of the incident was dealt with, and the vehicles were recovered shortly after 9.25am. The closure has been lifted.”

Motorists were diverted through Surfleet and Pinchbeck as a result — and the diversion led to heavy traffic through both villages, as well as on Wardentree Lane and the A152 link road.
