A17 closed at Sutton Bridge after bin lorry fire

A section of the A17 is closed following a bin lorry fire.

Police are currently on the scene at Sutton Bridge – and the road has had to close, with diversions in place as a result.

The incident happened near the A1101 roundabout – and is the latest in a series of collisions on the A17 in our area.

A force spokesman said: “The closure will be in place for some time. We would encourage motorists to find an alternative route if possible.”
