A17 Sutton Bridge works: New Spalding to King's Lynn 505 service bus timetable released
Stagecoach Buses have introduced a new, temporary timetable for its 505 Spalding to King's Lynn service during works on the A17 Cross Keys Bridge at Sutton Bridge.
Traffic will be reduced to a single lane over the bridge from Monday (September 30) during a £100,000 resurfacing and refurbishment project. Work is expected to last four weeks - subject to weather conditions.
The route that crosses the Victorian swing bridge is the only direct link between Lincolnshire and Norfolk.
Virtually all of the timings of the temporary timetable for the 505 bus service are new, given the need to compensate for expected delays, explains Stagecoach.
The new timetable comes into effect on Monday and will run throughout the bridge refurbishment project.
On its website, Stagecoach said: "Due to works taking place at Sutton Bridge, we need to make changes to the timetable in order to run the service as reliably as possible.
"Buses are estimated to depart up to 20 minutes differently on some journeys, with some exceptions for school buses."
There are slight changes to the times for the bus to and from University Academy Holbeach:
- Morning journeys from Spalding to Holbeach will depart at 07:45 (currently 07:50).
- The afternoon journeys towards Spalding will depart at 15:40 (the same time as the current timetable) but the current 15:52 journey towards Spalding will now depart at 15:59.
For students travelling from the Long Sutton area to Terrington St Clements School:
- The morning bus will depart from Long Sutton at 08:01 (not 08:21) to ensure students get to school on time.
- The afternoon journey from the school will depart later at 15:23 (currently 15:09).
The route that crosses the Victorian swing bridge is the only direct link between Lincolnshire and Norfolk.
