Actors from Star Wars, James Bond, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean and Jurrassic World movies to guest at first-ever Sutton Bridge Comicon
Actors with credits in movies from the Star Wars, James Bond and Harry Potter franchises will be among the wild and wonderful attractions at an upcoming comicon.
The event at Sutton Bridge – which will take place later this year – promises a mega mash-up of pop culture under one roof.
From superheroes to sci-fi, with plenty of Anime and horror in there too, crowds will be able to rub shoulders with cosplay guests walking the Curlew Centre in movie-accurate costumes, check out the gaming events and competitions and check out the collectables at the many trade stalls.
But for many, the chance to get autographs and pose for pictures with the host of big screen stars will be a major attraction.
Seven-foot-tall Ross Sambridge – who played a wookie in Solo and the body double for Supreme Leader Snoke in the Disney Star Wars trilogy – will be among the guests.
Also appearing will be Clem So, whose varied credits include Star Wars movies, two Justice League releases, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and James Bond films Skyfall and No Time To Die.
Completing the trilogy of named attendees so far will be Martin Ballantyne, whose credits include Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, jason Bourne, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Green Goblin and Deadpool cosplayers have also been announced.
“There’ll be something for everyone, enough to keep everyone entertained,” said Adam Landy, who is organising the event with wife Mellissa.
“There aren’t things like this locally, we wanted to put something on for families, children and adult collectors.”
Although this is the first comicon they have put on – and the first to be held in Sutton Bridge – self-proclaimed ‘magpie’ Adam and Mellissa are no strangers to these popular events, having visited many as traders selling action figures and movie prop replicas as hobbies and to sell items he has collected over the years.
They hope to use their experiences to put on a day’s entertainment for all to enjoy.
Sutton Bridge Comicon will be held on October 14.
Proceeds from the event will also support two charities, Help For Heroes and the Children’s Heart Charity in Lincolnshire.
Tickets are available on eventbrite, with a 20%-off early bird offer currently running.
You can book tickets at Eventbrite via the Sutton Bridge Comicon Facebook page, where further announcements will be made.
