Owners of West Pinchbeck nursery are stepping closer to retirement
A couple who have supplied flowers and plants to the area for decades are closing the retail side of their nursery as they step closer to retirement.
Adrian and Sue Chappell started Glenside Nurseries, West Pinchbeck, in the late 80s and following some 35 years of hard work are looking forward to more leisure time.
The wholesale part of the business will continue with input from their son Matthew and his wife Nicola.
Sue (67) said: “We are not retiring fully – this is the start of our retirement – we have a busy wholesale business which will continue as normal.”
The nursery, based between Spalding and Bourne, provides horticultural supplies trading in bedding, basket and patio plants with a shop on site that they have decided to close.
Sue added: “We want to cut down on our workload and our time at work.
“Our son wants to expand the wholesale business – no-one has been made redundant.”
Adrian recently turned 71 and the couple hope to do a ‘bit more travelling.’
Sue continued: “We have some original customers from over 30 years ago – we shall miss those – and recent customers as well.”
The couple will close the retail shop in order to create more time for their retirement plans.
Sue said: “We want to thank all our customers for their support over 30 years.”
