Spalding Adults Move disco was just what was needed after pandemic lull

Revellers got their dancing shoes on to enjoy an Adults Move disco recently.

The event was held recently at Spalding’s Vista Hall in St Nicholas Road.

About 50 people attended the party, which was a sell-out.

The event was aimed at adults with learning difficulties or physical impairments, who have been in need of such social events since the end of Covid lockdowns.

Adults Move - which organised the event - was founded by Spalding resident Bekki Loveridge, who was eager to give locals a outlet to get together.

“We wanted to create a safe space for adults with physical impairments or learning difficulties to be able to socialise and enjoy music,” she explained.

“I come from a dance background and it’s really important for everyone to be able to have that safe space to do that and have fun.”

And fun the partygoers had, with plans for more in the pipeline, much to the delight of those who enjoyed the evening’s entertainment.

“I got lots of great feedback and it was about how post-pandemic nothing came back for our attendees,” Bekki continued.

Music was provided by a band from the Rock School Bus.

Adults Move hosts events across South Lincolnshire, and also in Lincoln.

Monthly discos are hoped to begin in Spalding from March next year.
