Spalding threading hair removal expert opens new studio
Threading expert Ruby Pahal opens her brand new walk-in studio in Spalding’s Vine Street tomorrow (Tuesday).
The ancient art of hair removal using lengths of cotton thread originated in countries including India, Iran, China - and it was in the Punjab that mum-of-two Ruby learned her craft.
She said: “I was in Beales in Spalding for about five years but the business has got bigger and I just needed more room.
“I have found the perfect shop.”
Ruby’s Brow Studio has a treat in store for today’s first customer as they will receive a free eyebrow shape.
There will be special offers too.
The studio interior is black and white - including white vintage mirrors - so it has a bright, contemporary look.
“It’s very ‘in’ now,” said Ruby. “It just looks really modern and clean.”
The studio focuses on facial hair removal for men as well as women.
Women’s services range from the full face, including the neck, for £15 to the upper lip for £2.50.
Eyebrow and eyelash tints are also available.
Men’s threading services include the eyebrows for £6 and mono brow and cheek line, each costing £2.50.
The walk-in service means there are no appointments.
Ruby’s loyal Spalding customers will see familiar faces as Jaz Kaur, who has been with her for two years, will join her at the new studio as will Kay, who has worked with her for three months.
Ruby (32) went to the Punjab when she was 16 to learn threading and gained a national diploma.
She completed her NVQ level 3 diploma in beauty therapy in the UK and has been in the beauty trade ever since, some 15 years.
