Long Sutton Parish Council are fed up with ‘laughing gas’ canisters littering area
Fed-up councillors have expressed concerns about the laughing gas cannisters which have been littering a town’s parks and cemetery.
Long Sutton parish councillors have been found nitrous oxide cannisters – which was illegal to possess in November - at sites around the town.
The last meeting was told that cannisters have been found in the cemetery, Winfrey and Cinder Ash parks, the car park near the council office, Common Pit and the allotments.

Chairman John Clarey, who has shared pictures of canisters dumped at Cinder Ash from two years ago, said: “The canisters are ongoing, not just a one off.
“They are a different size we are finding now – a lot larger.”
The recent meeting was also told that seating has been damaged at the Common Pit and the reason for some ducks that have died there is still a mystery.
The bodies of dead ducks and dying birds were found by dog walkers at the site on September 24.
No results from DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) have been shared in response to the parish council’s reporting of the incident.
A member of the public said: “Whether it is bird flu or not it is still a danger to the general public – it’s not good is it ?”
The most recent incidents of the gas canisters have been reported to Lincolnshire Police.
