Anger over Spalding road closure and support for PM

Here are the letters from this week's Lincolnshire Free Press...

Road could have been kept open for longer

I live very close to Two Plank Bridge so I keep a daily check on the progress of the Spalding Western Relief Road project.

We are now two-and-a-half-weeks into the bridge and Blue Gowt Lane closure, allegedly for health and safety reasons.

To date, not a scrap of work has been done on the lane or even close by.

All machinery on the site has never been within 60 metres of the lane, so what danger could lane users possibly be in?

People are becoming very angry about being denied the use of this popular route for no apparent valid reason.

Surely it could and should have been kept open until the contractors are actually working in that area of the site?

We spent two years objecting to the Spalding Western Relief Road. Perhaps Lincolnshire County Council Highways are so hacked off with us,they are now making our lives a misery by way of payback.

This is a witch hunt against the prime minister

As it is obvious that Mr Johnson (Boris, prime minister) was set up in an entrapment to compromise his standing in public eyes, I give him my full support.

The MPs that set him up were most probably ones attending that party and should be sacked.

What is a big deal about it and why are the MPs wasting the public time and money on spending time on such a trivial matter?

They should be concentrating on jobs they are elected to do such as the fuel crisis and many other things concerning our livelihoods instead of having their faces on television.

When Tony Blair was responsible on the bombing of Serbia and was responsible for war crimes nobody made a fuss about it. So what if he (the prime minister) had a party during lock down? He is only human and deserves benefit of the doubt.

This is a witch hunt that has to be stopped as he was not the only one at the party but is the only one who got caught in this set up. I wonder how many of the others did not get caught for doing the same thing.

He did not kill any people who died during this pandemic but did his best to prevent it from spreading.

People need to get over themselves and stop trying to criticize the best prime minister we have had in many years. Let the one who is without sin throw the first stone.

Boris Johnson is doing a wonderful job

Boris Johnson is doing a wonderful job.

I don’t think his personal assistants are doing a very good job allowing all this domestic trouble to occur.
