Pinchbeck neighbours host get-together in support of resident’s parachute jump for Little Miracles charity

Friends and neighbours got together to help a fellow resident take the plunge for a children’s charity.

Annamaria Bodor, from Pinchbeck, is seeking sponsorship to do a fundraising parachute jump for Little Miracles, a charity that provides support to children with an additional need, disability or life-limiting condition.

The community rallied around and raised £176.57 at a get-together in Mountbatten Avenue, organised by Jacqui and Jeff Woods, who performs as Pavanotti.

Mrs Woods said: “Annamaria and her husband Tamas are lovely hard-working neighbours of ours and I thought it would be nice to host a friends and neighbours get-together on our driveway to raise some money for such a good cause.

“We have wonderful neighbours and we often have get-togethers on our driveway, starting during lockdown, it seemed a great way to help Annamaria and the children who would benefit.

“We all had a great time and many people stayed the whole morning and others dropped in.”

This will be the first parachute jump for Mrs Bodor, 38, who works at Greencore in Pinchbeck and will be taking part with a group of colleagues.

She said: “I have never done it before and I am not scared but more interested and excited.”

The jump will take place at Sibson Airfield in Peterborough although a specific date in September is not confirmed yet and a Facebook fundraiser will be set up nearer the time.

Mr Woods provided entertainment and neighbours brought food and drink along.

Some 50 people supported the neighbourly event including Coun Andrew Woolf, chairman of South Holland District Council and Coun Mark Le Sage.

Mrs Bodor held a stall offering her home-made cakes and desserts that helped raise funds as she prepares for her jump next month.

Mrs Woods added: “The generosity and support of the people of our area for good causes is second to none.

“Last week Jeff and I celebrated our tenth anniversary since we moved here.

“We couldn’t wish to live in a better place.

“Good luck Annamaria.”
