Sunbeams Playgroup in Sutton Bridge celebrated its 30th anniversary with a birthday party for children, parents and staff.

Former pupils and staff at the pre-school, located on the site of Westmere Community Primary School, were also invited back for the celebration.

Youngsters had a choice of activities to try out, including hook-a-duck, donkey rides, face painting, bouncy castle and tombola.

The anniversary was part of the playgroup's annual family fun day and manager Heather Church said: "It was a very good day when we had visits from previous pre-school managers and staff.

"There was a bit of everything for everybody, all of it totally free for the children.

"We're the only pre-school in the village so people describe us as 'heart of the community' because we're at the centre of things in Sutton Bridge.

"Two of our current staff were children at the pre-school and when people say 'Sunbeams' in the village, they know who we are."
