Michelle’s Animal Therapy and Petting Party business in Spalding pleads for help to find missing cat
An upset pet therapist is pleading for help in finding her missing cat - to help prevent an elderly woman from being devastated.
Michelle Daughtrey is appealing for sightings of Simon the therapy cat, who is a Persian Cross Ragdolll who went missing from Cathedral Drive in Spalding on Thursday, January 4.
Michelle runs Michelle’s Animal Therapy and Petting Party, which includes visiting care homes and special needs individuals with her animals as a form of therapy.
Michelle said: “I go and visit a lady in a care home who is 103 years old - I brought Simon with her in mind. When I go and see their home again, it’s going to be really devastating for her.
“It feels horrible and I feel upset. He helps so many people and is well known – this isn’t normal behaviour for him.
“All of the residents and special needs people I go and see with my animals have developed an attachment towards Simon, it’s like they are missing their cat too, so it is causing upset for everyone.
“It will upset the people I visit. I’ve put a lot of time into training him and how he behaves with people.
“He normally follows me everywhere, he is so friendly and loves people. I’m wondering if he has jumped into someone’s car with them not knowing as he loves travelling in cars – I just really need to find him.
“Simon does not like the rain and after all of this heavy rain we’ve had, it is very unusual for him not to come back. He is so used to coming out with me and the other animals to see different care homes and special needs people, we do it on a daily basis and it’s just not like him.
“I’m thinking he could have got locked in somewhere, has been stolen or got hit but I just need some closure on where he is.”
