Bakkavor apprentice opportunities in Bourne, Holbeach, Spalding and Sutton Bridge




Food production company Bakkavor is seeking 26 enthusiastic individuals to join its award-winning Apprenticeship Programme.

The application process is now open and successful candidates will start their career in September, with positions available at its Bourne, Holbeach, Spalding and Sutton Bridge sites.

Bakkavor was named The Job Crowd’s Top Company for Apprentices to work for in Consumer Goods and FMCG in 2020 and 2021.

The programme provides opportunities to gain Intermediate, Higher or Advanced Apprenticeships in specialisms such as engineering, finance, HR, hygiene, learning and development, manufacturing, process technology and product development.

Also available are safety health and environment, supply chain, warehouse and logistics, facilities management and continuous improvement.

Apprenticeship positions at the Spalding site include engineering (level 3, food and drink maintenance engineer), food technology (level 3, food technologist), health and safety (level 3, safety health and environment advisor), finance (level 4, professional accounting technician), supply chain (level 5, operational departmental manager), manufacturing (level 5, operational departmental manager).

At Sutton Bridge there is an apprenticeship in engineering (level 3, food and drink maintenance engineer).

Holbeach is offering apprenticeships in engineering (level 3, food and drink maintenance engineer).food processing (level 3, food technologist), and supply chain (level 5, operations/ departmental manager).

At the Bourne site there are opportunities in manufacturing (level 5, operational departmental manager), supply chain (level 5, operational departmental manager), technical (level 5, operational departmental manager), finance (level 4, professional accounting technician) and engineering (level 3, food and drink maintenance engineer).

There are also apprenticeships inBarton Upon Humber and Boston.

Bakkavor has been running its Apprentice Programme for nine years and offers two levels of apprenticeship that are designed to combine employment, on-the job learning and work-based training.

The Advanced Apprenticeship runs for two years and is aimed at school leavers, typically those that have completed GCSEs and are starting in a new career.

As an exception, Bakkavor’s Advanced Engineering Apprenticeships run for four years.

The Higher Apprenticeship runs for two years, except engineering which is four, and is aimed at those who have typically gained A-Level qualifications and are hoping to fast-track their career
