South Lincolnshire Academies Trust which runs Spalding Academy, Bourne Academy, Cowley Academy in Donington says it is making plans to keep schools open during teacher strike
Education centres are making plans to remain open during the teacher strikes, although they expect ‘some disruption’.
The Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian contacted schools in the area to ask them how industrial action may affect them over the next two months.
Lucy Conley, executive headteacher at South Lincolnshire Academies Trust said: “Further to the announcement by the National Education Union (NEU) that their members will commence industrial action, we have communicated with parents that we are making appropriate plans to open our schools fully.
“Whilst there may be some disruption to the school on the day of industrial action, we will update parents and students as the situation develops.”
The South Lincolnshire Academies Trust includes Spalding Academy (pictured), Bourne Academy and Cowley Academy in our area, plus Old Leake’s Giles Academy.
Teachers are not required to tell their employers whether they intend to take strike action.
However, schools are able to ask teachers in advance if they intend to strike to enable them to be able to plan how to manage the strike.
Other education centres were contacted for comment.
