Areas of Lincolnshire have some of the country’s hardest working people, study reveals
Employees in Lincolnshire are among the hardest working in the UK, a new study has revealed.
From farms to factories to finance, there’s no shortage of graft in South Holland, where business owners and staff put in an average of 41.4 paid hours per week - the third highest in the nation.
The hours were also put in by the people of Boston and North Lincolnshire, who also made the top 10.
Coming out on top of the study was Mid Suffolk where workers put in an average of 41.8 paid hours per week.
Second place was awarded to South Holland’s near neighbours of Fenland who averaged a marginally higher 41.6 paid hours a week.
Fourth place was awarded to North Lincolnshire (41.2 hours) with Thurrock in Essex (41.1 hours) fifth.
Proving further that the agricultural east is by no means scared of some hard labour, the Borough of Boston came in eighth place (40.7 hours) with King’s Lynn and West Norfolk (40.5 hours) in 13th spot.
The laziest town title went to Merthyr Tydfil in Wales, where employees work an average of 36.7 paid hours per week.
The study was conducted by Journo Research in collaboration with global fintech group Plus500,
