Armed officers attended an incident last night in a town after a man had been threatened with weapons.

Lincolnshire Police were on scene overnight in Station Street, Spalding following a report at 10.42pm (Friday, June 6) that a man had been chased from his vehicle into a property.

A police spokesperson said: “We are asking those people to come forward with information they might have, as well as any mobile phone, CCTV, or ring doorbell footage.

“We’re also asking anyone who was driving in and around the Station Road area between 10.20pm and 11pm to check dashcam footage to see if it has captured any vehicles or people.

“This information could provide lines of enquiry for our officers to follow.”

The exact number of people and vehicles involved are still unknown, with reports ranging from between one vehicle with six people, to three vehicles and up to 20 people.

This is forming part of the police investigation.

During this incident, there were members of the public nearby.

Armed officers were immediately deployed and confirmed the safety of the man in question, and have since been carrying out enquiries in the town.

The incident ended without reports of any injuries but there will be an active police presence in the area today and overnight.

A police spokesman said: “This would have been a very frightening incident to witness in your community and we're letting you know what we can tell you so that you know we are working on this.

“At the moment, our goal is to understand more about exactly what happened and the reasons why, as well as to identify any potential suspects.

“This is a busy residential area, and there are reportedly up to 20 people who were involved, as well as more who will have seen or heard something.”

There were also rumours circulating of a firearm, but this has not been confirmed to police.

A police spokesman added: “That information is of course very concerning, and we would urge anyone who might have information about a firearm or other offensive weapons, and the people who might own it, to contact us.”
