Looking forward to the Autumn
We may be enjoying a fabulous summer , but many of you are already planning ahead and here at the South Holland Centre we’ve just launched our Autumn season, which is brimming with a delectable concoction of events to make the upcoming cooler days and darker nights much more bearable.
There are many highlights to look forward to, including an evening with former professional cricket player and world-renowned commentator Jonathan Agnew, bowls into his tour right here in Spalding on Friday September 21. Aggers will take you on a trip down memory lane, with film footage, audio clips and photographs, as he waxes lyrical about his extensive and entertaining career both on and off the pitch. Make it a complete night out by booking for the pre-show Pie ‘n’ Mash supper.
Vocal trio, We3, who previously raised the roof at the South Holland Centre as the musical backbone of a cappella group The Magnets, will be here on Thursday October 4 to deliver a fantastic night of pop music, from The Beatles to Bruno Mars, all without the aid of backing tracks or instruments.
This is closely followed by a much anticipated return visit to Spalding by Amen Corner’s legendary frontman Andy Fairweather Low, who brings his extended big band to the South Holland Centre for the very first time on Saturday October 6 . Not only touring with his regular backing group The Low Riders, this exciting tour features the Hi Riders Special Soul Revue with a brass section and Hammond organ throughout.
Whilst Strictly fans will soon be graced with their weekly TV fix of all things glam and glitter, we are delighted to bring one of its favourite professionals much closer to home. Robin Windsor, who was part of Strictly for five years and whose celebrity partners included Patsy Kensit, Anita Dobson and Lisa Riley, will be tripping the light fantastic with his own team of professional dancers at the centre on Sunday November 4. This special Sunday matinee show comes with Sunday lunch and VIP ticket options.
The whole Autumn programme of live theatre, music, comedy, pantomime and more is listed on our website now and printed brochures will be arriving on doormats this week.
