South Holland District Council vows it is taking Ayscoughfee Hall incidents seriously after trespass and anti-social behaviour issues
Plans to tackle anti-social behaviour and trespassing at a historic hall and gardens are ‘being taken seriously’, according to the authorities.
Police arrested a male in Ayscoughfee Hall and Gardens, Spalding and found him in possession of drugs.
It follows an incident of vandalism to the newly refurbished gents’ toilets at the venue.
Coun Henry Bingham, portfolio holder for assets and strategic planning at South Holland District Council, said: “We are taking recent incidents of anti-social behaviour and vandalism in Ayscoughfee Gardens extremely seriously, and I was pleased to see the police taking action against one of these trespassers recently.
“We will always seek to take strong action against and recover costs from those responsible where possible.
“It is important that we do everything we can to help protect this popular and significant site for residents and visitors to enjoy for years to come, and we have increased security and preventative measures to tackle these issues.
“CCTV provision on-site is being expanded and further work is planned for the site to combat this anti-social element which seems to be intent on ruining these areas for the wider public.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
