Freckleface Home Fragrance and Sophie Allport in Bourne recognised in RHS Chelsea Flower Show
Two Bourne-based businesses have been recognised for their stalls at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Freckleface Home Fragrance, which has a store in Stamford, attended the show in London to display a stall prompting people to 'shop local'.
Despite it being the first Chelsea Flower Show they attended as a business, the stall was awarded five stars by judges.
Tara Carlile-Swift, managing director and owner of Freckleface, said: "We sell house plants and accessories in our stores alongside our home fragrance so we built our stand as a replica of our stores using house plants from a local Lincolnshire grower and the judges loved our business ethics of shopping local and the overall aesthetics of our botanical apothecary theme.
"We are shocked and delighted to have achieved five stars at our first RHS Chelsea and would like to thank all of our amazing staff who have helped us achieve this dream."
Since starting at her kitchen table with son Noah just four years ago, the business has expanded to employ 30 staff, have three retail stores and have products stocked in more than 300 garden centres and stores all over the country.
A key part of the business is being environmentally friendly, with vegan products, plastic-free packaging, and fragrances designed around nature as well as sourcing ingredients as close to home as possible.
British homewares and lifestyle brand Sophie Allport has also won a four star stand award at the Chelsea Flower Show.
Sophie Allport has been attending Chelsea Flower Show since 2010 and to celebrate the floral event, the company has launched a Chelsea Flower Show mug and, for the first time, a tea towel.
“I absolutely love Chelsea,” said Sophie. “It’s one of the highlights of our year.
"We love seeing all our customers and as a keen gardener I always look forward to seeing all the gardens and displays which are so inspirational.
"I hope our mug and tea towel will make lovely souvenirs for visitors and remind them of their special day.”
