‘Bad day’ for Spalding drug driver results in ban




A man has been banned from driving after getting behind the wheel under the influence of drugs.

Deivydas Rocys (20), of Hillary Close, Spalding was stopped on the A16 Surfleet Road on September 18 and when he was found to be over the limit for cannabis.

Offices also found cannabis in his possession, for which he had already been given a conditional discharge.

Rocys was said to have been showing a reading of 4.4 micrograms of cannabis in his bloodstream, the legal

limit being two.

Rocys told District Judge Peter Veits, sitting at Boston Magistrates Court that he had been ‘having a bad day’.

He had admitted driving under the influence of drugs during an appearance at Boston Magistrates Court, on Wednesday last week.

Rocys was banned from driving for a year and was fined £300 and ordered to pay a total of £205 in court costs and charges.
