GOSH what a great cause for Spalding bike ride
More than 30 cyclists pedalled nearly 60 miles in a ride inspired by a Deeping St Nicholas lad to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
The event was organised by Josh Wright, the 1Life sales manager at Spalding's Castle Sports Complex, and the cause was close to home.
Josh says Joshua Lawson, now four, had heart surgery at the children's hospital two years ago.
"He's fine, now," said Josh. "He's fully recovered."
Joshua is the cousin of Josh's fiancee, Charlie-Beth Gage.
In May, Josh organised a similar ride for a different cause, Anna's Hope, and the keen fundraiser staged his first charity ride last year.
This time riders set off from the Castle Sports Complex in Albion Street and headed to Deepings Leisure Centre and then on to Stamford Leisure Pool before pointing their front wheels towards home.
The overall distance was a little over 57 miles.
Some £325 was raised for Great Ormond Street.
Josh is a keen cyclist himself but was in the support team for this event.
The event was staged for members of the Castle Sports but other cyclists took part, including Boston Wheelers who enjoyed a change of scenery for their Sunday ride.
