Bigger and better celebration in Crowland

A town got into the Christmas spirit with a ‘bigger and better’ celebration than before.

Crowland Christmas Lights Committee were over the moon to see so many people have turned out to support the festive celebration on Saturday.

Committee member Cathi Elphee said: “It was a fantastic community event. It was fantastic to see so many people there enjoying themselves.

“This year it was bigger and better as we expanded and held it in North Street, South Street and the George & Angel car park. This proved successful and there were many more stalls with lots of variety.

“Local groups and charities have benefitted as they attended with fundraising stalls and all the local businesses stayed open for the event.

“All funds raised by the Crowland Cristmas Lights committee will go towards purchasing new lights for next year.

“The lights were switched on by Santa and Ella-Mai Bale. Ella-Mai is a Crowland girl with a talent for football who now plays for Posh Womens team.

“The committee would like to thank everyone who helped make the event the success it was.”
