Spalding bowling alley boss on news the centre can reopen after lockdown extension is lifted

After being told they could reopen from August 1, the brakes were then put back on again for a Spalding bowling alley owner, as the coronavirus lockdown was extended.

From Saturday (August 15), bowling alleys have now been given the go ahead again to reopen.

But owner of Alley-Catz in Westlode Street, Matt Clark, said he will be waiting a little while longer before opening the centre's doors.

"It is a step in the right direction," he said. "The green light has been given and we will have everything in place in terms of being Covid secure."

He added that with the announcement just having been made he will be looking closely at all the guidance given before reopening.

"We will be looking at what the big boys are doing before reopening but we will look at opening fairly swiftly."
