Beech Lodge Care and Nursing Home’s Brenda Mitchell meets friend Mary through Make A Wish initiative

A care home resident was reunited with an old friend as part of a special event.

Beech Lodge Care and Nursing Home’s Brenda Mitchell got to meet with one of her oldest friends as part of the facility’s Make a Wish initiative.

Residents were given the opportunity to tell staff about somewhere they have always wanted to go or a special activity they always wanted to do.

Brenda spoke to staff about her good friend Mary - the pair are close friends and speak every week, but due to lockdowns and health issues hadn’t seen each other in person for two years.

Staff arranged the trip to Mary’s house in Sporle, Norfolk - where they enjoyed a lovely day of catching up.

They spent time looking through photos of family occasions, reminiscing about when they met and their joint friends - as well as enjoying some cake.
