A17 was closed at Swineshead Bridge due to damage to level crossing

Drivers faced delays due to a main road closure caused by a damaged level crossing.

The A17 was shut at Swineshead Bridge — with drivers advised to take another route.

On Saturday lunch time, Lincolnshire Police said: “Swineshead Bridge is closed following damage to a level crossing.

“We are at the scene and will be for the foreseeable future until repairs can be made.

“Please avoid the area if you can and take an alternative route.”

The road re-opened later that day.
