Louise said: “I was heartbroken to see the poverty and disease. I know that Her Majesty The Queen had a huge heart for people affected by leprosy and my experiences have helped me to understand why.”

The charity helps to rebuild people’s lives that have been affected by leprosy, HIV, tropical diseases, disability and poverty in India.

People will be able to sample Indian snacks at the event and buy authentic gifts.

There will also be an exhibition and talks about what the charity does. The event will be hosted by the couple who run the charity in India.

She said: “It’s amazing to be a small part of a dedicated team providing free medical care for elderly and disabled people affected by this devastating disease.

“Our work in leprosy colonies is vital because these communities are unable to get treatment for ulcers and other leprosy-related health problems anywhere else.”
