Brothers to face trial after alleged hare coursing activities in Donington
Two brothers will face trial for alleged hare coursing activities.
A third man failed to appear before magistrates in Boston on Wednesday and an arrest warrant was issued.
Levi Lee (34), of Basingstike Road, Three Mile Cross, Reading, and Edward Lee (39), of Parkers Lane, Maiden’s Green, Bracknell, each denied two charges.
They are accused of being equipped for hare coursing in Mallard Drove in Donington on November 20 last year by having dogs, a vehicle, thermal camera, disc cutter and binoculars.
They are also charged with trespassing with intent to search for or to pursue hares with dogs.
A two-day trial was set for the pair at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court, starting on October 5.
They were granted bail with the condition not to enter Lincolnshire except for court hearings.
The arrest warrant was issued for John King, of Sandhills Sconce, Tolney Lane, Newark.
He faces the same two charges as his co-defendants plus two further offences on the same date – possessing a locking knife in public and having no MOT for a Ford Ranger.
