It states: “The school currently uses classrooms in all-year groups that are no longer adequate to provide the required environment for its pupils; at present, it is scattered and fragmented throughout the school. There is a need for parents to have a safe and cost-effective childcare facility.

"Kids and Holiday Club is staffed by school staff; at present, this facility does not exist. This has and will continue to put a significant strain on space as a resource and the delivery of satisfying care.

“The proposed new build will facilitate pupils who require additional tailored learning support with a dedicated space. In order to achieve the best support for pupils, the new building needs to be close to but separate from the main building.

“It will allow the school to meet all of the children’s needs as the school excels in the delivery of exceptional education / wrap-around care for all its pupils. The proposal will also boost and enhance the learning facilities at the school. The proposal also complies with critical local and national planning policy, in particular boosting economic development and redeveloping brownfield sites within the whilst improving the visual appearance.”

The application has been approved by South Holland District Council.
